State-Certified Recovery Residences Across South Florida
Since 2010, Project SOAR Recovery Residences has provided transitional supportive housing for men in the South Florida area. Our primary goal is to provide a clean, safe, sober, and responsible environment to recovering alcohol/substance abusers or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health issues, which will, in turn, support recovery. As a state certified recovery residence through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), and a member of the National Alliance of Recovery Residences, we are committed to only accepting those individuals who are serious about their recovery.
We are certified by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences. FARR supports Recovery Residence providers in their effort to deliver quality recovery-oriented housing opportunities to persons in recovery and holds each recovery residence accountable according to their Code of Ethics and Certification Standards.
We are a recognized member of the Florida Department of Children and Families and one of only four recovery programs in Broward County that is certified by the State of Florida. The program is responsible for the oversight of a statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental health illnesses or substance abuse disorders.
We are a member of National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). NARR gives peers living in recovery residences a unified voice to a degree that has never been heard. Their vision is that all persons in recovery from addiction have access to the recovery support they need to live happier, healthier lives.
Recovery residences are residential facilities designed for recovering alcohol and substance abusers who have completed a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program and wish to continue their sobriety in a safe and substance-free environment.
Recovery residences give residents the time required to find a new job and a permanent place to live, or to take care of legal or social service issues. Many times, residents living in recovery residences have just completed a substance abuse rehabilitation program and do not have a stable home environment to which they can return.
Unlike halfway houses, recovery residences provide a stable environment for residents to maintain their sobriety and prevent future relapse without the distraction of unstable relationships or negative living environments that may involve substance abuse triggers.
Our recovery residences are located in the heart of sunny Fort Lauderdale and the Florida Beaches. South Florida is known for its relaxing atmosphere, and Project SOAR places its residents exclusively in centrally-located areas of Fort Lauderdale where they will be in a safe and nurturing environment.
