"A Community of Stability, Opportunity, Achievement and Recovery"
About Us
Project SOAR Recovery Residences has provided recovering alcohol and substance abusers throughout South Florida with a clean, safe, sober, and responsible living environment since 2010. Our State and FARR certified transitional housing program primarily serves the dual-diagnosed residents and those who are either seeking employment in the community, currently employed or are enrolled in a job training or educational program. Our program rules were created with the hope that each resident learns to develop self discipline, accountability, responsibility and respectability. Following completion of a 12-Step Program, Project SOAR will facilitate the program participant’s transition out of our residence and into permanent housing. For those interested, Project SOAR also offers permanent housing for residents that have successfully completed our program. We are dedicated to only accepting those individuals who are committed to their recovery. Project S.O.A.R is an Acronym for:
- Stability: Residents are provided a clean, safe, comfortable, alcohol and drug free, supportive living environment.
- Opportunity: Residents are given the opportunity to focus in the areas of life skills development, substance abuse counseling, case management, education, employment and housing search.
- Achievement: The goal of Project SOAR is to help participants remain sober and achieve independence from transitional living housing.
- Recovery: Support is provided to participants to ensure a successful recovery.
Recovery Residence Rules, Curfews and Staff Support
- Project SOAR allows residents to apply the lessons and skills learned from rehabilitation treatment to everyday life. Residents are required to live by the house rules, which include a zero tolerance policy for drug and alcohol possession and/or use
- Abstaining from violent behavior and learning to live with the rest of the sober living house community.
- Random and selective alcohol and/or urine testing is required.
- The structure of our residences include a live-in Program Manager to help residents maintain a curfew, follow the house rules and participate in various support groups.
- Residents are responsible for daily chores to maintain the household which include cooking and cleaning. They must agree not to bring drugs or alcohol into the house and are required to attend self-help groups and a minimum of 90 meetings in 90 days (AA or NA).
- Prospective residents of Project SOAR must agree to a list of rules before moving into the recovery residence. This keeps the living environment safe and substance free for its occupants.
Project SOAR Level System
ENTRY LEVEL:
A two-week period during which residents are allowed to leave the property to attend 12-Step meetings or to seek employment. |
LEVEL ONE:
A resident can be voted into level one by their peers if he has a job, a sponsor and a 12-step home group. Level one residents may leave the property alone, though they have a 10:00 PM curfew on weekdays and 11:00 PM on weekends. |
LEVEL TWO:
Level two is granted to residents if they meet level one requirements for 30 days, owe no rent and support Project SOAR activities. Level two residents have an 11:00 PM curfew on weekdays and 12:00 AM curfew on weekends, they will also be granted overnight and weekend passes when requested 1 week in advance. |
TRANSITIONAL LEVEL:
Transition level is granted by the Operations Manager after residents write a detailed paper outlining plans for re-entry into the community. This paper includes a meeting and work schedule, savings plan and other pertinent information. |
