"A Community of Stability, Opportunity, Achievement and Recovery"
Since 2007, Project SOAR Recovery Residences has provided transitional supportive housing for men in the South Florida area. Our primary goal is to provide a clean, safe, sober, and responsible environment to recovering alcohol and/or substance abusers which will, in turn, support recovery. As a state certified recovery residence through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR), and a member of the National Alliance of Recovery Residences, we are committed to only accepting those individuals who are serious about their recovery.
Project SOAR Recovery Residences is certified by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences. FARR was founded in 2011 out of the need to evaluate and monitor standards-based recovery support services provided in community-based, residential settings throughout Florida. FARR supports Recovery Residence providers in their effort to deliver quality recovery-oriented housing opportunities to persons in recovery and holds each recovery residence accountable according to their Code of Ethics and Certification Standards. Failure to abide by the standards set forth by FARR will result in the loss of certification.
Project SOAR Recovery Residences is a recognized member of the Florida Department of Children and Families and one of only four recovery programs in Broward County that is certified by the State of Florida. The program is responsible for the oversight of a statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental health illnesses or substance abuse disorders.
Project SOAR Recovery Residences is a member of National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). NARR gives peers living in recovery residences a unified voice to a degree that has never been heard. Their vision is that all persons in recovery from addiction have access to the recovery support they need to live happier, healthier lives.
"Project SOAR is committed to providing each of its residents with an environment that inspires change. We offer a safe, clean, affordable and secure community. You will be surrounded with caring individuals who are a testament to the benefits of living a healthy, sober lifestyle."
What is a Recovery Residence?
Recovery residences are residential facilities designed for recovering alcohol and substance abusers who have completed a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program and wish to continue their sobriety in a safe and substance-free environment. Recovery residences give residents the time required to find a new job and a permanent place to live, or to take care of legal or social service issues. Our staff treats each individual with respect and dignity. Many times, residents living in recovery residences have just completed a substance abuse rehabilitation program and do not have a stable home environment to which they can return. Unlike half-way houses, recovery residences provide a stable environment for residents to maintain their sobriety and prevent future relapse without the distraction of unstable relationships or negative living environments that may involve substance abuse triggers. For many people who have struggled with drug or alcohol addiction, returning to their previous home life is not their best option in order to realize long-term recovery. A recovery residence can offer the respite and freedom recovering addicts need to build a healthy and drug-free life.
